# Cool Computers in other MCP clients

> Connect Gemini CLI, Antigravity, VS Code, Zed, ChatGPT, Claude.ai and any other MCP client to the Cool Computers MCP server.

The server is `https://api.cool.computer/mcp`. It speaks Streamable HTTP and signs in with OAuth, described by its [protected resource metadata](https://api.cool.computer/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp). A client that cannot do OAuth can send a Cool Computers API key instead, as `Authorization: Bearer` followed by the key. Create a key in Settings at [www.cool.computer/account](https://www.cool.computer/account), or over HTTP as the [credential reference](/authentication.md) shows. The examples below keep the key in `COOL_API_KEY`.

For Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, see [Claude Code](/claude-code), [Codex](/codex) and [Cursor](/cursor).

## Gemini CLI

```sh
gemini mcp add --transport http cool https://api.cool.computer/mcp
```

Or add it to `~/.gemini/settings.json`; Streamable HTTP servers take `httpUrl`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "cool": {
      "httpUrl": "https://api.cool.computer/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Then run `/mcp auth cool` to sign in. With an API key, add `"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer $COOL_API_KEY" }` beside `httpUrl` instead; Gemini CLI fills in the variable from your environment.

## Antigravity CLI

Add the server to `~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "cool": {
      "serverUrl": "https://api.cool.computer/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

## VS Code

Add the server to `.vscode/mcp.json` in your workspace:

```json
{
  "servers": {
    "cool": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://api.cool.computer/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

VS Code opens the browser to sign in to Cool Computers the first time it connects.

In a local session only, an API key works too: VS Code asks for it once and stores it. VS Code does not forward a server that needs an `${input:...}` value to Copilot harness sessions.

```json
{
  "inputs": [
    { "type": "promptString", "id": "cool-api-key", "description": "Cool Computers API key", "password": true }
  ],
  "servers": {
    "cool": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://api.cool.computer/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${input:cool-api-key}" }
    }
  }
}
```

## Zed

Add the server to `context_servers` in Zed's `settings.json`:

```json
{
  "context_servers": {
    "cool": {
      "url": "https://api.cool.computer/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

With no `Authorization` header, Zed signs in with OAuth. With an API key, add a `headers` object beside `url` whose `Authorization` is `Bearer` followed by the key.

## Claude.ai and Claude Desktop

1. Open Customize, then Connectors.
2. Choose Add, hover over Custom, then choose Web.
3. Name it Cool Computers, enter `https://api.cool.computer/mcp` and choose Continue.
4. Review the detected authentication and choose Continue. Under Authentication choose Sign in now, and keep Claude's published identity as the OAuth client.
5. Choose Add, then sign in to Cool Computers.

On Team and Enterprise plans an owner or primary owner enables connectors under Organization settings, Connectors; each member then signs in to Cool Computers for themselves.

## ChatGPT

1. Open [chatgpt.com/plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins).
2. Choose the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
3. Name it Cool Computers and enter `https://api.cool.computer/mcp` as the server URL.
4. Choose OAuth, confirm the warning, and choose Create as a plugin.

## The skill

Agents that read skills can install the `cool-computers` skill, which teaches them when to publish a page, how to answer comments and drawings, and when a site needs a VM:

```sh
npx skills add The-Money-Company-Limited/cool-computers
```

The same skill is listed for discovery at [/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json](/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json), and the server at [/.well-known/mcp.json](/.well-known/mcp.json).

## Check it works

Ask the agent:

```text
List my Cool Computers sites and computers. Don't change anything.
```

It calls `cool_list_computers` and answers with your list.
